Elon Musk once posted late at night lamenting that money can’t buy happiness. Honestly, having enough to get by is plenty. What matters far more are the relationships in our lives — including the one we have with ourselves. Harmony. Stability. Peace. The Creator must have a way of leveling the playing field when it comes to happiness across every rung of the wealth ladder. So in the pursuit of happiness, we are all equal — we just take different paths.
You truly possess something only when you don’t have it. When you can’t afford the big house, your fantasy of it is at its most perfect — every room, every feature, flawless. But once you move in, give it a few months, and the magic fades to nothing.
Distance creates beauty; not possessing is the truest form of having. What is an ideal? An ideal is something I haven’t yet achieved — that’s what stirs the soul, not the things I’ve already done. But we should treasure what we’ve accomplished, what we already have, and the people by our side even more. The unchanging rhythm of daily life is the ultimate anchor for a restless mind — because in the end, none of us will change anymore. We will all slip into an endless sleep. Medicine has a word for it: death.
Cherish the present. Live each day well. Be grateful for everything I have — and everything I don’t.
